What is ERP, and why does it work?
ERP stands for Exposure and Response Prevention. It's a type of cognitive behavioral therapy specifically designed for OCD.
The idea is simple (even if it doesn't feel simple): you gradually face the things that trigger your anxiety — while choosing not to do the compulsion. Over time, your brain learns that the anxiety passes on its own.
